  1. Mr. Maurizio Frizziero, Schneider Electric IT Business India Pvt.

Mr. Maurizio Frizziero has been working in the cooling business for more than 10 years, specializing in mission critical applications and IT data center solutions, moving in 2003 from nuclear fusion applications and controls. He has experience in R&D and product management, thermodynamic solutions for continuous cooling, high temperature operations and noise impacts. In 2011, Maurizio joined the Schneider Electric team and is currently the Global Product Line Manager for Air Economizers and Chillers. He holds a Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Padua. He has also authored several technical publications.

Mr. Sanjeet Sandhu joined APC by Schneider Electric in December 2008 and is currently Vice President DC Consulting & Projects, DC Center of Competence for Asia Pacific & Japan. As the head of the Data Center Center of Competence for the APJ region, his team provides the standards and competency in being the subject matter experts for DC Design Consulting, Design Optimization including Project Management and Facility Management methodology and standards development to provide the best in class in mission critical facilities consulting, design, deployment, operate and monitoring for the Data Center Life Cycle. 

Talk Details: 

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 12,000 HVAC&R professionals as members and additionally there are 7,500 Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.

The expert speaker briefed about different cooling techniques which are in practice and those which are under deployment. The topics include Data Center Trends and Cooling Trends, Cold Wall, Modular Data Center, Secure Power and Rack Solutions.

Humidifiers are required in data centers to prevent electrostatic discharge damaging servers and offer high capacity, low cost evaporative cooling. For existing data centers ASHRAE recommends a humidity level of 5.5°C dew point to 60%RH and an allowable range of between 20-80%RH. In most parts of the world, at some time in the year, humidification will be needed to meet these internal conditions. Humidifiers are often used alongside free air cooling systems to either boost the cooling capacity with an evaporative cooling effect or provide high load, low cost humidification to the large volume of air flowing through the data centre’s ventilation system. Using variable-speed CRAC units instead of fixed-speed ones is another option: The CRAC units only run at the speed required to maintain the desired temperature. CRAC units operate most effectively when running at 100%, so some variable-speed systems are not fully optimized when operating at partial load
