Join our innovative team in Burlington, Massachusetts, where we specialize in the development and 
production of advanced ceramic components for aerospace turbomachinery! As a leader in the

durability, and precision required for next- generation turbine engines. We are seeking a skilled 
Senior Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our advanced ceramics production operations and drive 
excellence in manufacturing processes.

OVERVIEW
The Ceramics Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes for 
advanced ceramic components. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will collaborate with 
production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production that meets 
stringent aerospace standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ceramics manufacturing, 
strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing aerospace technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process Design and Optimization: Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for advanced 
ceramics, including slurry preparation, 3D printing, molding, and sintering, to improve yield, 
reduce defects, and minimize cycle times.
• Technical Support: Provide engineering support to production teams, troubleshooting process 
issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure consistent quality and throughput.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure processes comply with Quality 
Management System (QMS) requirements, customer specifications, and aerospace standards (e.g., 
AS9100, NADCAP).
• Process Improvement: Lead initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other 
methodologies to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
• Equipment and Tooling: Specify, evaluate, and maintain manufacturing equipment and tooling, 
ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Documentation and training: Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work 
instructions, process flow diagrams, and technical reports, using tools like Microsoft Office Suite 
and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle). Train as needed as per training requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to support new 
product introductions and process scale-up for ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) and monolithic 
ceramics.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure processes adhere to safety standards, including proper handling of 
hazardous materials (e.g., ceramic powders, liquid resins) and conducting risk assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, 
Manufacturing Engineering with 3+ years’ experience in ceramics manufacturing or 7+ years’ 
experience in ceramics manufacturing.
• Skills and Competencies:
o Strong knowledge of ceramics manufacturing processes, including slurry preparation, material 
control, dimensional controls
o Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing tooling and fixtures.
o Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and 
reporting.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
o Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical 
data to stakeholders.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day and work in a 
controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to ceramic powders and high-temperature 
equipment.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Expertise in ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) or monolithic ceramics for aerospace 
turbomachinery applications.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as CMM, computed tomography, or 
structured light inspection.
• Green Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent certification.
• Experience with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and regulatory 
requirements.
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing or 
automation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Location: On-site in Burlington, MA
• Travel: Occasional travel (5-10%) may be required for tech transfer or supplier visits.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for on-call support as needed.
