Women Cell Acropolis Group

Objective:

To encourage and facilitate women in achieving full potential in education, career & personal life through academic & intellectual growth and personal empowerment which in turn would promote economic, political & social empowerment. 

Stakeholder(s) involved:

The Management, Executives, Student, Faculty, Office staff of all the institutes of Acropolis group.

Scope of the work: 

Acropolis Women Cell is applicable for all institutes of Acropolis group. 

Activities Planned: 

  1. Lecture/Seminar on Self Defense, Time Management
  2. Career Awareness Program
  3. Workshop on health and hygiene, stress relieving, spiritual
  4. Counseling, support and guidance to female faculty, staff and students

Role and responsibilities of committee:

  1. Convener: Facilitate the necessary requirements to efficiently and effectively implement and execute the plan.
  2. Department Faculty Coordinator: Ensure the coordination of activities and participation of students in various activities. 
  3. Department Student Coordinator: Conduct the events and ensure maximum participation of students.

  3. Faculty and student coordinators from all the departments and group institutes

Procedure:

For effective implementation of Women Cell following procedure is followed:

  1. Formation of the Acropolis Women Cell committee which includes representatives from all the institutions of Acropolis.
  2. Execution of two events per semester for the development, awareness and safety of women.
  3. Creation of the congenial environments for women for a better tomorrow.

Expected outcomes:

Well being and self awareness generation of the students and women working in the institution.  

Activities organized Jan-June 2020:

  • Women on Wheels: 

Acropolis women cell actively participated in Two wheeler Rally organized by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Mahila Mandal on 8th March 2020. More than 40 students and faculty members of Acropolis Group of Institutions took part in it. 

  • International Women’s Day Celebration:

Women Cell Acropolis celebrated International Women’s Day on 12th March 2020. The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 was “An equal world is an enabled world #Each for Equal.”

The event started by Expert Talk of VG Mrs. India Shraddha Pandit Madam on fitness of individual and stress management using physical activities. Followed by motivational talk of Mr. Mir Ranjan Negi Sir and a talk of Mr. Nimish Tiwari Sir on Women Health.

    The objective of the event was to promote gender equality, recognize women's
    exceptional contributions, and empower them to achieve their dreams in a more
    inclusive society.
    2Social Activity: Visit to village2/25/2023Acropolis Women CellThe Acropolis Women's Cell hosted a successful International Women's Day event in Sulakhedi village, raising awareness about girl child education.
    3Essay Writing Competition1/11/2023Acropolis Women CellIn order to create awareness about the “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013”, an initiative of Govt. of India, Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research, Indore organized an essay writing competition on the topic "Elimination of Violence against Women" on November 25, 2023. Total 28 students participated in the competition and expressed their views through their write ups on Violence against Women.

    On the basis of the ideas, language and writing style three students, Ms. Jahanvi Mishra (CSIT 1 I Year), Ms. Anjali Ahirwar (MCA I Year) and Mr. Arpit Jain (AI ML II year), secured first, second and third positions, respectively.
    4Tree Plantation Drive in collaboration with "Akhil Bhartiya Shwetambar Jain Mahila Sangh"7/16/2022Acropolis Women CellA Tree Plantation Drive in collaboration with "Akhil Bhartiya Shwetambar Jain Mahila Sangh" was organized by Women Cell on 16th July 2022. Around 250 members from Akhil Bhartiya Shwetambar Jain Mahila Sangh participated in the event. They planted saplings with medicinal properties, they also planted a sapling named “Sita-Ashok plant” which has a description in our Mythology, and they gave the name “Ashok Vatika” to the place where plantation was done. After the plantation program everybody had their lunch. Post lunch program was conducted in the Central Auditorium, in which members from the Mahila Sangh were welcomed and honored by Dr. Poonam Singh on behalf of Acropolis Institute
    5Awareness Program & Expert Talk on Menstrual Hygiene5/26/2022Acropolis Women CellWomen Cell organized General awareness program on menstrual health & hygiene in collaboration with Zydus health care. The program was conducted for the female faculties, lady staff and girl students of D.Pharm, B.Pharm and M.Pharm. The session was chaired by Dr. Shruti Pathak Tiwari. The session was started with warm welcome of the Dr. Shruti Pathak Tiwari and team by Dr. G.N. Darwhekar, Principal AIPER. The session was very helpful for all the females as many doubts were cleared during the session and all questions were answer by expert very clearly.

    6Celebration of International Women’s Day with expert session on the topic “Financial Literacy”3/8/2022Acropolis Women CellAcropolis Women Cell celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th 2022. On this occasion, an expert session was organized on Topic “Financial Literacy” especially for female faculties, staff members and the students of the organization. The session was delivered by the chief guest CA Ishani Maheshwari. In this expert lecture, she talked about the financial management. She recommends various strategies for future investment and security for the betterment of women in all domains (domestic and entrepreneurial). The Program became more graceful by address note of Mrs. Shraddha Sojatia.
    7Extempore
    Speech Competition on the theme Women in Leadership:
    Achieving an Equal Success in Covid-19 World”.
    11-02-2022 Acropolis Women CellAcropolis Women Cell organized an Extempore Speech Competition on the theme “Women in
    Leadership: Achieving an Equal Success in Covid-19 World”. In this offline competition, total 61+
    students registered and 26 students participated from different streams of Acropolis group. Dr. Pranoti
    Belapurkar, HOD, Biosciences Department, and Prof Geeta Santosh, HOD, FCA Department invited as
    judges in this extempore speech competition.
    In this competition, students also motivated by first, second, third positions and some consolation
    prizes and Anuj Sharma (CS 1 First Year) secured first position, Sejal Dharphale (CS 4 First Year) got
    second prize and Dhruv Shinde (IMCA) secured third position.
